You’re free to work or go to school while also being held accountable for your recovery. How long you stay depends on the sober-living facility and your progress in recovery. Some sober-living facilities are only offered for as long as you are in the treatment program. For others, you can remain in a sober-living environment after treatment is completed. Think of sober living as your support net as you practice new skills, gain new insight and shape your new life in recovery with other people who are possibly facing the same challenges.

Recovery Coaching

Each day, sober living residents choose their own schedule, choose where they go and what they do, and choose to stay sober that day. Having the space to make the right choice helps build self-esteem and confidence, while still offering the safety and support of a recovery-based environment. Recovering addicts can practice life skills, such as paying rent and maintaining a clean living space, while surrounded by other sober individuals. Have a confidential, completely free conversation with a treatment provider about your financial options. Each house will also have a list of items that may not be brought into the house. Bringing in one of the items can be enough to have you booted from the house. If they leave too early, their chances of relapsing increase significantly.

If it’s winter and you might get to go to the snow or you will be in a setting with snow, bring your snow gear.
